Every Monday night, tourists, residents, the young and the less young come together for our legendary Church on Monday party featuring the band “What the Funk” and witness Sint Maarten’s most talented artists.
Do you love Motown, Reggae, Pop and everything in between? From Stevie Wonder to Bruno Mars, What the Funk Band gives you all that good stuff and more when it performs. Music lovers on Sint Maarten voted What the Funk as their preferred local band for several years in a row. Band members comprise Shawn Jacquet on vocals, Amin Bouadbell on guitar, Cornelius Roumou on bass, Nikita Christmas on drums. They also welcome a variety of special guests, from all over the island and beyond, to come and jam with them every Monday and manage to create special musical moments week after week. Church on Monday never fails to impress.
The Band plays from 9pm until midnight every Monday and continues to make an impression on guests who can’t seem to get enough of the group. The style of music performed by What the Funk Band is sure to have you dancing with its renditions of good old Motown classics, reggae, funk and dance music. Band members thank the public for their support and pledge to continue playing their hearts out every time they perform. The party doesn’t stop at midnight though! The Red Piano is proud to have the acclaimed DJ Nachum spinning the latest hits every Monday night from Midnight until the wee hours of the morning and he will keep you dancing with his contagious grooves and breathtaking light system.
